Limitations
Safety standards for this medication are not formulated for males below the age of 18 years.
When shouldn't Jatenzo be consumed?
- Men who are diagnosed (or suspected) with carcinoma of the breast or prostate
- Women, especially pregnant women and lactating mothers
- People allergic to this compound
- Men with hypogonadal conditions which are not related to structural or genetic etiologies
Precautions
- Increase in blood pressure
If the BP hikes during the consumption of Jatenzo, it can increase the risk of MACE. Hence the cardiological condition should be diagnosed before consumption of this drug.
- Polycythemia
Sometimes, an increase in the hematocrit reflective is observed in RBC mass, increasing the risk of thromboembolic events.
- Cardiovascular Risks
Some studies suggest that usage of Jatenzo can become a threat to cardiovascular health by increasing the risk of MACE.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and Potential Risk of Prostate Cancer
Patients suffering from BPH are recommended not to consume androgens because it can worsen the case. Moreover, it can make the patients prone to prostate cancer.
- Venous Thromboembolism
Patients undergoing testosterone replacement drugs experience symptoms of venous thromboembolism, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
- Spermatogenesis
Androgens can suppress spermatogenesis, which can lead to negative results in semen parameters.
- Hepatic Adverse Effects
Patients taking this androgen for a long period shows symptoms of hepatic dysfunction (like jaundice).
- Edema
Androgens can lead to excessive sodium and water retention in the body, which can lead to many health complications, including edema.

- Development of Gynecomastia (who are suffering from hypogonadism)
- Sleep apnea
- A negative change in the serum lipid profile
- Increased risk of hypercalcemia
- Disruption in hormones which can lead to the risk of depression and suicidal ideation
